Ahmed Jemaa is an activist and doctoral researcher. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Tunis and a master’s degree in social anthropology from the Central European University in Vienna. Member of the Border Studies Research Group at the University of Sousse. He worked as a researcher in projects for European non-governmental organizations and universities. His research focuses on the border system between Tunisia and the European Union by studying Tunisians’ experiences with Schengen visas in movement and migration and paying attention to the political economy of relations on both sides of the Mediterranean. An activist in social movements and associations concerned with issues of social justice and cultural rights.
