Ahmed Medhat is an Egyptian journalist, researcher and human rights defender. His past projects include investigative research on critical topics such as Islamism and radicalization, military economy, gender-based violence, sectarian conflict, human trafficking, informal migration, and social and political dissent in Egypt, Syria, Libya, Yemen and Lebanon. His contributions have been commissioned by reputable international media outlets, including The Guardian, The Times of London, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, Swedish Radio, as well as academic institutions such as The University of Oxford, The University of Antwerp and The American University in Cairo, among others.
